22nd Birthday Dinner @ Yuzu ft. Guest Blogger

Haro taro! This is a continuation of my 22^nd birthday celebration!

Woke up at noon time on 24^th of August feeling exceptionally happy. Lazed around with the company of good music for at least a couple of hours until my stomach decided it was finally time to get up and grab some food. The weather was perfect, so I took a walk to the nearby mall, in the meantime ignoring the pedestrians who were intrigued by my oversized pyjamas.

Had some quick bites before getting ready for Drum Tao performance that coincidentally fell on my birthday. Dinner at KLCC as planned. Okay actually not considered plan since I couldn’t decide which restaurant to go to. LOL.

Okay I know I’ve introduced the guest blogger once before in one of my previous posts and some of you might have read it, but I’ve already deleted that introductory paragraph from that post because he complained it was really unglam that we were at the hot spring and he was wearing t-shirt and shorts. HAHAHAHA damn fussy seriously. So with the golden opportunity, I hereby introduce my honourable guest blogger, Andrew Chua.

After several appearances in my previous blog posts, I guess he doesn’t need any more introductions? Okay never mind I know some of you don’t read all my blog posts (I hate you!!!) so let me introduce Andrew, who will be my guest blogger from now on. He’ll be doing review posts mostly, because more often than not my reviews can suck balls. So whenever I laze around my apartment in Sunway, I would expect him to be blogging diligently for me in London. So geng leh got guest blogger all the way from London!!! Teehee.

Andrew specializes in music production and sound engineering by the way. You know who to look for if you ever need someone to customize music for your video or stuff! Back to my birthday.

Made up my mind to dine at Yuzu Japanese Restaurant at last.

The salmon sashimi was soooooooooooooooooooo awesome! A must-order. For those who don’t eat sashimi, you have no idea what you’re missing in life!

Sushi was quite good also.

Shishamo.

Stone-grilled squid tentacles with mayo sauce. Yummy! Ordered this because we both love squids, especially the tentacles part!

His Asahi beer.

Wagyu beef grilled to medium!!! The meat was tender and tasted buttery. Yayyyy damn happy I can haz wagyu beef on my birthday! ^^

Complimentary fruit cake because it was my birthday! Hiak hiak.

Such a turn off we couldn’t stay long for dinner as we had to rush to Drum Tao. Bo bian cause I was assisting with the marketing of the event. Still turned up late and entered the hall halfway through the drum performance T_T

After the show we wanted to go to a peaceful spot for a drink or two. Sky bar was too damn packed and loud. Totally not the kinda classy lounge I pictured it to be. So guess where he brought me?

Mandarin Oriental Hotel! HAHA.

The lounge there was such a lovely place! Beautiful deco and soothing ambience. Oh oh there was a house pianist playing slow music!

Had the most delicious banana spilt made out of sweet pisang goreng and the yummiest ice-cream with special flavours! Don’t be deceived by the size because the pineapple was actually a mini one, barely half the size of the usual pineapple. Teehee.

Qualities Men Should Have

Recently I saw a video of Linora talking about the qualities that men should have. Found it rather interesting so I shared the video but later on I found out that the video was removed! I think the bitchy and bimbotic way she talks in the video kinda offended the public especially her radio listeners. But trust me, she doesn’t talk like that in real life lah. LOL.

The video got me thinking about qualities men should have. True it varies with individuals and we certainly have no right to decide what specific qualities a man ought to possess. But when it comes to picking the right man, there are certain requirements from us that we hope they could fulfill.

In her video, there are a few qualities mentioned which I couldn’t agree more.

Chilvary

Or more often known as the “gentleman”. For example, holding the door for a girl instead of walking ahead and have the door slammed on her face!

Okay maybe you would think, the girl got no hand meh cannot hold the door herself ah???

Yes we do have hands and we could very much hold the door as well as you could. But being a man, don’t you think it’s only polite if you hold the door and let her pass through first instead of being selfish and just walk ahead? It irritates me very much when a guy does that. I’ve encountered it several times before and being outspoken as always, I confronted the guys straight away and taught them the right thing to do. It always ended up with them apologizing sarcastically. Not sure if they’d taken my advice into consideration -.-

It gets worse when the guy happens to be your boyfriend! Have you ever had your boyfriend walking way ahead of you while you sulk and stomp your feet while trying to catch up? I don’t remember having dated someone like that lah but I know some guys really do that. Why can’t they just hold the girl’s hand and walk with her side by side? Tskkk.

Grooming

I used to know guys who don’t brush their teeth after waking up, don’t shower regularly, don’t spray deodorant in spite of the unbearable body odour, wear ugly socks that don’t match the shoes (seriously?), keep greasy untrimmed hair like Professor Snape etc etc. You should be able to guess the reason I wrote “used to know” instead of “I know”.

Seriously guys, it’s time you learn how to groom yourself!

Even my friend’s dogs know how to groom better!

Okay maybe not, because dogs don’t groom themselves. It was the pet salon’s job to groom them. LOL.

But my point is, even if you don’t give a damn about your appearance, you should at least care about personal hygiene! Never mind if you don’t wax your pubic hair (no one is interested in licking your balls in the first place if you’re a disgusting guy who knows noting about grooming XD), but at least trim your hair when it’s already so out of shape! Don’t tell me you want to look like Steve Aoki. Chances are you would end up resembling the street beggar.

It also irks me when guys mismatch their clothing. A striped shirt doesn’t go well with a checked pants! I have this stupid person in mind as I’m writing this line. His verdict: it doesn’t matter, I still look good. What an idiot!

Next it relates us to guys with long nails.

I’m not so much against this though because I myself keep long nails all the time. So who am I to judge? Teehee. But as far as I’m concern, none of the guys I know have long nails. If they wanna play the guitar they can just use the triangle thing wat. Whatever you call it. Guitar pick or something.

HAHAHAHA spider hair!

If I see it I would take out my tweezer and pluck it off!

But that means I need to get a new tweezer every time I do it. Wouldn’t want to use the same tweezer that once plucked out a man’s nose hair. GROSS!

That’s why even men should check themselves out thoroughly in the mirror every morning. Get rid of your spider hair before we women catch the sight of it!

Last but not least,

Patience – a very important quality many men lack.

“Are you done with your make up? I’m starving!”

Goodness, waiting for a few minutes for me won’t 饿死 okay! I can accept it when the guy complains once or twice, but when they kept nagging and kicking a fuss it seriously gets on my nerves. I don’t even complain when I wait for you to finish up your stupid game!

But anyway nowadays I’ve been avoiding using make up. I’m already quite used to seeing myself without.

My sour puss face when I disapprove men’s behaviour. Teehee.

Of course those aren’t the only qualities I expect from men! There’s a whole lot more to that but I’m not gonna further elaborate. Care to tell me about your view on qualities men should have? 

22nd Birthday Celebration

Recently turned 22 on 24^th of August 2012. Did not throw any big party this year but instead, just a simple dinner with my close friends. Even that was their idea. I certainly wasn’t in the mood to club so had to disappoint them by turning down the suggestion.

Angela and Rachel from my uni. We practically move about everywhere together in campus.

Celebrated at Chili’s, Mid Valley. Why did the birthday girl have to be the camerawoman? LOL.

Since it’s my birthday post, there’s gonna be plenty of my photos. But already trying not to post up repetitive ones! Teehee.

My all-time favourite, Northwestern Grilled Lamb grilled to medium. But usually their medium tastes more like well-done which I don’t really fancy. The mashed potato is da bomb!

Chili’s food is usually served at very big portion. But I still insisted to get my birthday cake so I asked the girls to request for a complimentary birthday cake from the waiter.

“Today is my friend’s birthday, are we going to get any free cake???”

*facepalm*

SO DEMANDING!!! I think it could have been put in a better way. LOLLLL.

Damn happy cause got free cake! It’s the only day I can demand for special treatment from restaurants, unless of course if I always pretend it’s my birthday the rest of the time la wtf.

Very sampat as usual.

Time to show the world my blowing skill! HAHA.

Headed off to Library for the second round after dinner. At first I suggested we drink at Brotzeit cause I wouldn’t mind some sweet mango beer, but their expressions totally changed once we reached outside Brotzeit. They were expecting a livelier hang out spot with loud music, not a chilling restaurants where people just sit down and enjoy small-talks. Aihhhh got criticized for being an auntie. I think my interest must have somehow switched now that I’m a year older. LOL.

Polaroid photos, most of which turned out bad cause the photographer didn’t aim properly. Doesn’t matter, still looked great.

Of course, we did not forget to request for special treatment! LOL. The manager-on-duty brought us 6 shots of tequila after we told him that it was my birthday. But he needed my IC to verify and this special treatment is only valid only if any of us is a Library member (Angela has the member card XD). Guess it’s easier getting free cake then free alcohol huh.

Surprise!!!

It’s a rainbow cake from Wondermilk!!!

Jess suddenly showed up with the cake and surprised me! Omgosh I totally didn’t see it coming! So touched and happy at that moment I realized what a thoughtful best friend I’ve got!

The cake was from Jess and Katie (who is back in Melbourne). Thank you so much my twinny best friends! I love you girls so much!!!

I had such a great night with my loved ones. Truly blessed to have you all in my life!

Kolam Air Panas Sg. Gerisik

Visited the hot spring in Muar when I was back for raya break. It was my first experience at Kolam Air Panas Sg. Gerisik. To be honest I hadn’t heard of that place until then.

Don’t exactly know how to direct you there as all I know is it is located somewhere along the way from Muar to Batu Pahat.

To my surprise, it was a decent place. Quite well-maintained except the "g" from "Selamat Datang" fell off. HAHA. Even more surprising, we didn’t have to pay! 

Quite crowded that day since it was public holiday. This hot spring is way better maintained than the one at Selayang that I visited a few times before!

The water was quite hot for me in the beginning but after I soaked my whole body inside, it actually felt really comfortable! The pool in the middle contained hot boiling water which can easily get you scalded. We should have cooked some half-boiled eggs there wtf.

The pool there was reasonably clean for a public hot spring. But of course you don’t expect it to be as clean as a swimming pool la. There are still some dirt here and there. Must shower after soaking!!!

I suggest you bun your hair if you’re ever visiting a hot spring.

Damn geram cause I got fungal infection after I came back from the hot spring! 5 of us went but I was the only one who got it. FML. Managed to get rid of it though after applying some cream from the pharmacy. I think it was probably due to the water shortage at the bathroom there. Didn’t get to take a proper shower immediately hence the infection. Jeez.

It was a fun experience nonetheless!
