Movie Review: Skyfall

Courtesy of MHB, I attended the premiere screening of Skyfall this morning with other media partners. Here’s my movie review with no spoiler! Just gonna tell you my general opinion on the overall of Skyfall.

The usual scenes you’d expect from James Bond movies: Bond’s sizzling hot body (he looks irresistible even from the back!!!), loud shooting and bombing, sexy Bond girls and plenty of high-tech computer coding which I couldn’t quite comprehend. Some die, some survive (okay you may ignore this sentence for its redundancy wtf, the result of no spoiler).

Adele’s epic song Skyfall in the beginning with the credits and some artistic visual effect during which I thought I actually saw a hot Asian girl holding a gun, which led me into thinking that this time there’d be an Asian Bond girl but the only Asian girls in the movie were those who played insignificant roles in the Macau casino :(

Le sexy time scenes were totally censored. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

Kinda expected both of the girls to be extremely pretty and sexy but the black girl was rather ordinary.

Q, the geek guy in this movie is so cute with his sweater! Totally my type, albeit a tad bit too skinny. Later on I googled him up and discovered that he’s 32! He looks 10 years younger in the movie with specs and without moustache!

Anyhow movie is great. The plot flows pretty well. I particularly like how they shot the scenes at Westminster station and the magnificent view of Skyfall, Scotland. Oh, be ready to see how they destroyed VW beetles and Sean Connery’s Aston Martin! Awesome but gimme heartache T_T

Go book your ticket and let me know what you think of it!

Rating: 8/10

虽然身在远处, 却时时刻刻守护着你。

尽管困境重重, 也心甘情愿地一一克服。

哪怕为了寻找自我, 也不曾抛弃你孤单一人。

让你流泪的他, 始终不值得你爱。

Sweaty and Disgusting

I’m on study break! Less than 2 weeks’ time to revise for 3 subjects. Thank goodness it’s 3 instead of 4! One of the subjects we’re taking this semester is fully based on assignment and presentation. My most hated subject to the honest. Guess I’ve complained about it before, such a waste of my tuition fees learning about team work, fictional business projects and shits like that for 3 semesters. I mean come on it’s not like we never do team projects in other accounting and finance subjects! Don’t need to specifically design a course to instill leadership qualities and teamwork spirit into us okay! It’s acceptable if you introduce it in one semester, but for 3 semesters?! *DISAPPROVED* For the money I paid, I would rather be taught some useful elective subjects like macroeconomic theories.

So guess what, I’m at my usual café right now utilizing break from revision to scribble some pointless ranting here. You must be bored of my constant anger and anxiety outbreak. Things have been tough lately . . . (no okay stop it I’m not making excuses for myself!) Anyway I’ve finally got my resume done and applied for internship at KPMG! Also sent my resume to a friend who happens to be the associate director of PwC, who then replied saying that I have excellent result *proud* and that he has written a nice email to his HR! So yea, fingers crossed! It will be my first time doing a proper office job, if I ever get hired. But it doesn’t matter if I don’t cause then I’ll have 3-months time to accept other jobs and earn more side income wtf.

It’s amazing how some simple words from the friend can have so much motivational effect on me. He said my results are great and I should keep up the good work. Simple words as such which probably didn’t take him any effort to even say them, yet they serve as a reminder that I should keep going and never give up although it’s getting harder to get HD now that I’m in my final year. I used to aim for full HD but now it seems rather impossible :( But anyhow I will do my best and get a D at least, if not HD!!! That’s the least I could do to get easily admitted into one of those companies. Teehee.

Haven’t neglected my work out session! Focusing more on gaining 6 packs and victory v these days. Doing crunching exercise in my room once every 2 days. Jog only once or twice every week. Reasons: the rain, an d the fact that I don’t wanna wash my hair everyday. Tsk.

No I don’t wear my shoes to bed XD

My disgusting look after each work out session.

Swear this is more tiring than bed time exercise wtf.

Busy weeks ahead! Was hoping my guest blogger would update for me more often but it seems like he’s even busier than me? Oh well :(

[ADV] Malaysia's Own Oktoberfest @ 1 Utama

Attended my last Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest this year at 1 Utama last Saturday! Click here and here to read about my experience at Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest which were held at Hakka Restaurant and Berjaya Times Square.

Presented by Carlsberg Malaysia, Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest provides consumers an opportunity to taste the authentic German beer and at the same time, enjoy the joyful festive mood. Like I mentioned in the previous posts, the event runs from September 26 to October 7, which means by now it has come to an end.

I’m so glad to have attended 3 of their events this year!  Witnessed a large turnout of consumers at the last event at 1 Utama especially. It was held at the old wing outdoor parking space where a big tent was set up. I could already hear the loud music and feel the party atmosphere as I was walking towards the shopping mall exit!

We can haz Oktoberfest party hat!

As usual, consumers could take home the limited edition Oktoberfest beer stein. This time they even allowed us to customize our name on the stein! Too bad I went to the counter late so didn’t make it.

So glad that Jess accompanied me this time! She stays super near from 1 Utama! Teehee.

Jessy was there too.

Gathered in front of the stage and ready to dance with the crowd! XD

Met up with Wenshen there towards the end of the night. By that time I was looking sweaty after all the dancing and jumping around. Can’t help since it’s outdoor T_T

His bunch of friends.

There was a dunking machine this time! The same game we played during Carlsberg Where’s The Party. Throw a ball and hit the target so the fella would fall into the water container. No doubt one of my favourite games! *evil*

Of course, Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest is not solely for party-goers at Klang Valley. It was held at 18 key market squares throughout peninsular Malaysia and even East Malaysia! Here are some photos of Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest at the other states:

I Beam, Batu Pahat on 27th September 2012.

Shenanigan’s at Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu on 28th September 2012.

Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang on 4th October 2012.

The authentic Umpapa band from Germany and the Carlsberg ambassadors in traditional German dress made their appearance at all of these places! Everyone in Malaysia had the chance to experience the carnival like festival!

The beers available at Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest: (which I’m sure you’re quite familiar with by now if you’ve attended)

Carlsberg (5% ABV/ alcohol) the must-have every time.

Erdinger Weissbier (5.3% ABV) the first German wheat beer to be distributed nationwide in Germany.

Franziskaner Weissbier (5% ABV) my personal favourite despite the slight bitter taste. What a refreshing and smooth wheat beer!

Lowenbrau, (5.2% ABV) a famous beer during Oktoberfest with rather light taste.

To encourage responsible drinking, Carlsberg Malaysia is deploying their employee-ambassadors to distribute brochures and encourage consumers to test their BAC (Breath Alcohol Content).

Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest might be over, but we should always remember to enjoy responsibly! :)
