Fancy dining with nature? Subak is an ideal restaurant
you should seriously consider!
When I first read about Subak, I saw that the address was
Bukit Lanjan which sounded really far off from the city, hence I didn’t
research much into it. However, it wasn’t until recently when I’ve come to
realize that it was actually located a stone’s throw away from Damansara
Perdana, somewhere along the automobile showrooms!
Who would have thought there was a forest dining so near
from my home and workplace???
I was amazed by the green surrounding the moment we reached
the entrance of the restaurant. Are you sure we are still in KL city and not
Bali? LOL.
The restaurant took on the concept of Balinese fusion. But
nope, it is a halal restaurant and there isn’t any pork rib or bebek here.
The menu offers a wide range of selection ie. pastas,
burgers, Asian food, steaks and grilled seafood etc. You may access the full
list of online menu here: http://www.subak.com.my/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Subak-New-Menu.pdf
The raw design and the wooden structures reminds me very
much of the many restaurants I have visited in Bali. Instantly feel like I was
on a vacation.
I was told that the restaurant is a real romantic pick for
dinner. Imagine yourself dining in a dim lit wooden attap house on a breezy
evening listening to the singing of crickets. The only concern you should have
is the mosquitoes. For that, the restaurant has got some coils standby in
place.
Subak has got some pretty good mocktail. We had Amore and
Blue Eye of the Float – RM13 each.
We did not order any starter but 3 main course instead. LOL.
Seafood Aglio Olio – RM32
Served with an adequate amount of mussels, prawns and
squids. It was good, but could have been better with more garlic.
Norwegian Salmon Steak – RM47
Looks burnt on the outside but the inside of the fish is
fine. I always thought cooked salmon could be a bit dry but the problem is
solved when eaten with cream sauce.
Black cod fish – RM65
What can I say? Cod fish could hardly go wrong! Smooth and
sweet. That bunga kantan sauce (whatever it is) was rather odd though.
Noticed that all 3 dishes were seafood XD
Fish pond with kois ^^
Pardon me for my bizarre dressing. It was Christmas eve so I
thought I could pretend to be a carol girl.
Matching outfit with the car cushion! LOL.
Subak serves the same menu for lunch and dinner. If you want
good lighting for photos, go in the afternoon. Otherwise for lovebirds, I would
recommend you to visit after sunset for a more romantic ambience.
