Ramadhan Buffet @ JW Marriott Poolside

To be honest I had never been to any hotel Ramadhan buffet, not until recently. Yes I do eat Malay dishes especially during Raya season, but those are usually at friends’ place. Wanted to visit this Ramadhan bazaar at Kelana Jaya after reading KY’s blog, but someone said he wanted to eat at a hotel where he could sit down and slowly enjoy his food without having to sweat at the bazaar. So we made reservation at JW Marriott.

Yerrr so close to getting table no. 24 which is the birthday we both share but then he said it's good we didn't because 24 = 饿死 (e si in Chinese) which means starved to death -.-

Chose this hotel for their poolside dining. Buffets are not supposed to be romantic but still, I prefer to dine at the poolside rather than an air-conditioned dining hall.

Didn’t know how people dress for buka puasa buffet so I put on the most decent dress I have. Teehee. Nola just kidding, I have another long sleeves dress which is way more decent, makes me look like an uptight impenetrable virgin wtf but since we would be at outdoor, I decided to wear this floral maxi instead.

My favourite dish that night was the roasted lamb! Served with black pepper sauce, mint sauce and mustard.

Ulam-ulaman which I don’t eat.

The main dishes including ayam masak merah, ayam percik, ayam rendang, sambal prawn with petai, curry mutton etc.

My serving of main dishes. Took a little bit of everything. Personally prefer the mutton. Ayam percik and rendang was quite good also.

Tomyam soup with seafood was nice but somehow I still prefer the one at the mamak outside my house. Maybe I don’t have an expensive taste HAHA.

Satay is a must-have there! Love the beef satay especially! So good I went back and get 8 more sticks. They’re bigger than those satay selling outside. Teehee.

The fish was quite yucky. The cencaru was just hard and tasteless whereas the pari made me a bit jelak after a few bites. It was too big I guess. When you order pari, always go for the small ones with softer texture.

This plate consists of beef cooked in different ways. Can’t name them cause I wasn’t the one who took these, but they all tasted quite okay.

We were already quite full when we helped ourselves to this serving of laksa.

Murtabak and roti jala.

Some fried stuff but wasn't crunchy and the oil used wasn't very fresh.

I look good in this photo but the plate of half-eaten food was damn disgusting la. LOL.

No matter how full you are, there’s always enough space for dessert!

Fruits! Bad bad habit eating fruits after meal T_T

Overall I would say the food was so so, not exactly fantastic. But the poolside atmosphere is definitely a bonus point. The buffet price here is cheaper compared to other hotels. The only setback is they only serve local dishes but no international cuisines. That means they don’t serve sashimi! :(

As you can see I’ve changed my previous default blog template to the current pink polka-dotted background! And also the pink header and title font to add on to the cutesy! So basically everything is PINK now! There’s just something about this shade that makes girls (well, at least girls like me) obsessed.

Today was just like one of those days when I felt like dressing up like a pink Barbie. Put on my new pink chiffon dress and my iconic pink giant hair bow.

I mean, not only you get to share your pretty photo with your instagram followers, you get to show it to the entire country as well! Apparently all you need to do is snap a photo of yourself in anything related to the colour pink and upload it onto instagram within 13^th-31^st August 2012.

Let me list down the 4 simple steps to you:

1. Snap a picture of yourself on Instagram using anything pink (pink hair, pink shirt, pink glasses, pink braces etc) Of course I would go for accessories which are not only pink but also fabulous, something that would look great on a retail poster.

Fellow MHB members and I were invited to witness the grand launching of iDarts Quad. Before this, I had never been to any darts bar in Malaysia. In fact the last time I played darts was probably more than 10 years ago when electronic darts had yet to be invented.

Where else better to play electronic darts other than this fun and classy darts bar?

Such a cool place that does not only allow you to play darts games over some drinks from the bar, but also enable you to enjoy the popular hitz music played by the DJ.

Of course, most of us including myself are not familiar with the functions of electronic darts machines. No worries, because the considerate management of iDarts have hired a few helpful female darts’ instructors who would teach you how to play and use the machine. The buttons might seem complicated and confusing at first, but once you get it you’ll find it fun and easy peasy!

Driven by SEGA software, these high-tech dartboards are networked globally. Through the live webcam, you can play against people all over the world! How cool is that??? XD

The electronic darts machine does not offer only darts games but other games including drinking games as well. Furthermore, you can customize the content from background to insults! LOL.

The first time you visit iDarts, you’ll be given a card that keeps all your data. Before each game, you have to insert the card into the machine and leave it there to record your scores. Your statistics will be kept in the system so friends can download your stats and challenge you! Alternatively, you can also log in at home and see people playing in real life.

 

Never knew electronic darts could be so fun and interactive! I always thought darts game was always just you against the wall, especially when you’re angry, you just want to make as many hole as possible on the board. HAHA.

Regardless whether you’re a beginner (noob like me who threw and dropped the darts) or pro, iDarts has plenty of cool interactive games to entertain you. In fact it is like a Facebook for darts lover, encouraging a sociable community and helping you nurture your skills!

Just venting my anger

Don’t get me wrong, I’m never this bitter usually. But today there seems to be a million things that made my blood boil!

First when I was using the shower at Gurney Hotel Penang this noon, someone came knocking on the door and even pressing on the bell. Thought it was an emergency so I went out to check. Apparently it was the housekeeping coming to check the “mini-bulb”. I was wrapped in the towel and I obviously wouldn’t let anyone, even someone claiming to be the hotel’s staff to enter my room. So I asked him to come back later, then continued my shower and proceeded to press the “Do Not Disturb” button. Thought no one would come knocking again once I’ve done so, but I was wrong! Minutes later he came knocking and demanding to come in again! WTF!!!!! What is the point of putting up that DND button when they couldn’t even follow the instruction?! I then asked him to come check it after I check out at 2pm, but he insisted that it MUST be checked before I check out. WHAT THE FUCK?! I felt that my right as a guest was violated and my safety was being put at stake. Slammed the door on right away on that dude and issued a complaint letter to the management. Went down to see the manager on duty later on to make sure he is aware of this issue. Mad pissed seriously. Never encountered such ridiculous incident before. Let’s see how the hotel responds to my complaint, if they even respond at all!

At first we were told that we would be staying at G Hotel, but turned out that they put us in Gurney Hotel instead. The celebs were staying at G Hotel so the press conference was held there, which means we had to be transported from one hotel to another for the press conference. Unlike G Hotel, Gurney Hotel doesn’t have a shopping plaza right next to it. The only thing they had was Coffee Bean -.- For both days lunch wasn’t provided. So I had a smoked salmon sandwich for lunch at Coffee Bean today. The food was good so at least it made me feel slightly better.

Firefly plane blew smelly hot air onto my face while I was boarding, causing me dizzier than I already was :'(

Ordered delivery for dinner and when I wanted to take the lift back up, it broke down for the 13748237232580238th time!!! Took the stairs up to 6th floor and by the time I arrived at my door step, I wasn’t sure whether I was panting out of anger or the unnecessary exercise performed.

Random people keep sending me promoter job offer on Facebook. Since when did I say I’m interested to be a promoter?? Or do I look like a promoter to you??? It really annoys me to see job offers that pay RM100 a day. STOP SENDING ME SHIT LIKE THAT!!!

Don’t understand the purpose of hiring a maid when she doesn’t even clean the toilet. The sink is clogged up but she isn’t doing anything about it!!!??

Somebody needs to learn to flush the toilet every time after use. You know how disgusted I feel seeing a mixture of yellow pee and tissue paper in the toilet bowl every single time I want to use the toilet?! Not to mention that the toilet seat wasn’t put down. I had to use my dainty finger to finish someone else’s business putting down the seat and flushing the toilet!!! WTF?

As if these things aren’t enough to pissed me off, I’m being reminded that a photographer has yet to send me my photos since March. It has been 5 months!!! How long does it take for one to edit a normal outdoor photo shoot album? He did not upload any of the photos onto Facebook either, making me feel that I’m ugly and not worthy enough to be uploaded. But even if I were ugly, he could have still sent me the photos in private! Or perhaps he’s lost the photos and had nothing to send me? Then he should at least tell me! But instead of doing so, he merely ignored all my calls, whatsapp, fb message, tweet and every form of communication! Maybe he got kidnapped and vanished from the world? Apparently not, because I see his tweet to others and fb updates going on all the time. He is clearly very much alive and intentionally ignoring me!!! Wrote on his fb wall, but there was no reply and I’m guessing he’s deleted it. If you weren’t planning to send me my photos then don’t bother asking me for photo shoot and wasting my whole day! Not even a single apology from him! Think you’re getting famous now can do whatever shit you want lah? Shit attitude. I hope you fall down and crash your camera and your lens and flash and everything valuable wtf.

Someone asked me not to be so harsh to him else he becomes “bubur”. HAHA. If you know who I’m talking about you’ll probably get this stupid joke.

Café Madeleine Patisserie @ Sunway University

Finally got the chance to try out the newly opened café in Sunway University. Had been passing by there everyday before, after and even in between classes. Located near the side gate of Sunway University, Café Madeleine Patisserie has become a new hang out spot for students.

Food served includes sandwich, croissant, desserts, pasta etc.

Macarons selling for RM 3 each. Yet to try.

Root beer and chocolate cake.

Pastries.

Cookies!

I guess most people would visit the cafe for breakfast.

Dean’s List Breakfast Combo – 2 sunny side up, 2 hash brown, tomato, baked beans, 2 toast and sausage. Too big a portion, good for sharing – RM10

Everything tasted okay except the hash brown. It was too hard and cold for my likings. Gave the impression that it was left overnight. But when we confronted the lady boss she told us it was oven-baked instead of deep-fried so we can’t expect it to taste like those in Maccas *rolls eyes* It still tasted bad after her explanation.

Black Americano was quite good – RM5

The white coffee costs 2 bucks more expensive.

Oh, they serve free water! Thumbs up for that.
