So yesterday, I woke up unusually early around 9am just to have breakfast with a few friends who are still in Muar. We were supposed to go to a kopitiam that sells laksa, pig intestines soup (yuck!), fried carrot cake and zui kuey which is also known as wun zai gou in KL, except the one in Muar is much nicer. But the laksa stall wasn’t open so we went to a Malay stall for roti canai instead. There goes my zui kuey :(
So while eating, someone randomly suggested that we go to Malacca. Ever since the new highway is built, the distance from Muar to Malacca is even nearer now. It only takes about 30 minutes or less to reach. We waited for Yong Haw’s parents’ permission, then the guys went home for shower and off we go heading North!
But before that, they wanted second round of breakfast at a traditional kopitiam. Half-boiled egg, coffee and toast O.o
@angweechun, @chonghao1990 and Yong Haw. I know despite the caption, this photo makes them rather irrelevant since it focuses on me XD
Guess where was our first stop? Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Shop! The one with the life-sized Ah Xian at the door step.
I love those mini chicken rice balls in Malacca! I can have like 20 of them!
Yummy chicken.
Didn’t quite like the coconut cause the meat was too hard for my liking.
#Bromance LOL
The guys wanted to go for second round of chicken rice at the corner shop but thank goodness it was closed! It’s become essential for them that there must be a second round for every meal -.-
So instead, we drove to a road side Malay stall located somewhere at. . sheesh idk where, but it was nowhere close to
You probably can’t see in this photo but there were so many bees flying around the sugar cane machine! At first I was terrified thinking that they were flies T.T
Apparently the stall is famous for its coconut milkshake with Wall’s ice-cream. So refreshing on a hot and sunny day like this!
Their karipap (curry puff) was the bomb! Must try it if you ever go there!
I don’t quite remember when was the last time I took a photo with Yong Haw. Haven’t seen him since he went to
Chong Hao and Ang the two fatties.
Went to Dataran Pahlawan and bought movie tickets. Ang and Yong Haw insisted to watch Transformers 3 3D but Chong Hao and I had already watched it. So the two of us watched lala land Ladda Land instead. Freaking scary
Played pool at Cue Club while waiting for show time.
My pool skill sucks. Teach me pool, somebody? :(
Dinner at
Stir fried lala with cili padi is the best!
BBQ prawn on sticks tasted really good too but it costs RM2.25 each!
Ikan bakar pari (sting ray) wasn’t that good. Any stall in Muar can beat this.
Fried sotong the all time favourite.
And like I said, the guys must always have second round. So guess what? We drove all the way back to Malacca town again for a taste of the famous siham, or we call it longkang siham, presumably the best siham in town!
Located at a dark narrow alley in between two buildings, this cockles and shells stall is well-known despite the unpleasant outlook.
Look, even Ah Xian had been there!
Nom nom nom at the alley. Then the guys started telling stupid stories like lizards and rats falling from the building and getting cooked together with the siham. Wtfreak.
The two fatties did not eat much cause the half-cooked siham were too bloody for their liking. FAIL! By the way, that girl looks like Pei Wing but she’s not! XD
Chilled at Home Lounge next to the river before heading back to Muar. My first time tasting Kilkenny the Irish beer and I already like it! In fact it tastes a bit like chicken essence when it’s cold! Does that mean Kilkenny is a healthy beer? LOL.
Went home last night with red eyes and blur vision. Contact lens attached for 16 hours! And I’ve probably gain some weights from all their 2nd rounds! Jeez. It was fun nevertheless! :)
