Murano Spa - Awesome Affordable Massage in Bali

Never miss out spa during your vacation in Bali! Do a little research before your trip. There are plenty of spa choices around the beautiful island. Most of them post up their packages and prices online for our convenience. Check out the genuine photos and reviews posted by other visitors too before coming into conclusion.

After much research, we decided to visit Murano Spa located at Seminyak. For the price of only 210,000 rupiah (less than RM60), we get to pamper ourselves for 2 hours! It costs around RM67 after 10% of government tax. Really cheap but offered great service!

Contrary to our usual belief, cheap is not always associated with lousy. In fact, Murano Spa is surrounded by beautiful nature. The greeneries and water streams relax your mind even before you begin your spa session.

Murano Spa is a 2-storey building by itself constructed with red solid bricks which has a cooling effect amidst the blazing Balinese weather.

We made our reservation online before the trip. Don’t worry if you do not have a contact number in Bali. The spa would contact your villa for confirmation and reminder purpose.

We didn’t wait that long before our turn. Actually I didn’t mind waiting cause every moment there is blissful! Soon, we were ushered to our respective rooms.

Angela and Mei Yan shared a couple honeymoon upstairs. According to them, they shared the huge bathtub while trying to cover their bodies from each other’s sight wtf LOLLLL.

I had a room to myself downstairs which was dim-lit with soothing music in the background. There was a massage bed and a bath tub at the back with outdoor view. Don’t worry about other masseurs walking past. You can hear them occasionally but they always stay out of sight.

I chose the 2-hour Javanese Lulur treatment – traditional massage with Sandalwood or Frangipani mint oil followed by a Turmeric/Javanese Lulur Scrub to exfoliate and soften the skin. Yoghurt is then applied to the skin and finally, a bath with delicately scented flowers!

The massage was ordinary in my opinion, nothing to shout about. But the scrub was really great! Felt so much cleaner and refreshed after the scrub. Love the cold yoghurt applied against my skin too! Read on the reviews that we had to uncover everything during the massage which caused discomfort to some people especially conservative Asians like us. It was dreadful that some had their body revealed with a male masseur present in the room since they signed up for honeymoon package. I was mentally prepared for it, since my masseur is just a girl like us and had probably seen more boobs than I had. Teehee. However if you find it uncomfortable, perhaps you could request to not have the scrub and yogurt applied on your chest.

My bathtub with beautiful scented flowers!!!

Omgosh I had always wanted a flower bath! So excited with this last part of my spa treatment! The masseur gave me 15 minutes to soak myself in that beautiful little tub but obviously I spent longer than that inside la. Plus the minutes spent snapping selfies XD

I feel like an oriental princess wtf. 格格到!

Tea and cookies were served. How thoughtful of Murano Spa.

Whoever invented flower bath is awesome! Wish I could do this at least once a week! I want a bathtub in my future house!!!

Pure happiness.

Will highly recommend Murano Spa if you are looking for an affordable spa with great service and beautiful environment in Bali. Bali Vacation - Nusa Dua Beach

It's been months since my Bali trip but I haven't done sharing all my wonderful experiences there! Bear with it, just let me reminisce those few days of pure bliss with the girls.

It was a great sunny day on day 3 of our Bali trip. Woke up at our villa and put on our casual beach outfit.

Hat and shades are essential in Bali. Your hat is like a symbol telling the public “I am a tourist!”  but it doesn’t make any difference, as your skin colour itself has already drawn a line between you and the locals.

Blue cloudy sky over the green land. Simply beautiful.

OOTD. How do you like my Hello Kitty canvas bag? ^^

Before heading to the beach, our driver brought us to another corner of Nusa Dua to watch the super waves.

Once we were close by, we could already feel tinge of saltwater gently blown and carried by the breeze.

The waves were so strong and mighty it could easily sweep you off if you were standing too closely. Nevertheless, I was really amazed by the magnificent creation of mother nature.

It was really windy there. We spent some time enjoying the breeze while snapping photos of the great scenery.

Wait, what I meant was photos of ourselves. LOL.

Here we are, Nusa Dua beach where it is less crowded with tourists and vendors as compared to Kuta Beach.

A beach vacation which I had waited so long for! I don’t wanna wake up from this dream!!!

Found a shady spot to rest. Well Asians being Asians. The other white-skinned tourists were having a good time sun tanning on the beach lounge.

Love the soft golden sand.

We weren’t prepared to swim, so merely dipped my feet into the clean and cooling seawater.

A walk along Nusa Dua beach which I would always remember. The sun, the breeze, the sand, the sea. . . Missing these bits and pieces of my Bali vacation.

Digi Challenge for Change (DigiCFC)

How would you like to develop an awesome mobile app and at the same time win fantastic prizes?

Digi Challenge for Change (DigiCFC)is back!

Organized by Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd,DigiCFC invites talented local app developers to ideate and build innovative community-centric mobile apps that bring Malaysians together for positive change.

This year, the challenge has been expanded into 4 categories: Learning & Edutainment, Health & Wellness, Discovering Culture and a new category called Connected Citizens for mobile app ideas that facilitate the delivery of public services.

DigiCFC will be carried out through 2 main phases:

1. Ideation Challenge (27 Nov 2013 – 18 January 2014)

·      A host of promotions and go-to-market support from DiGi.

Motivated to submit your idea yet? Sign up on www.digicfc.my through the following simple steps:

Step 1: Choose a social media platform to log in with

Step 2: Fill in your personal details

Step 3: Fill in the details of your app

My app will be from the category of Health & Wellness. The idea I am submitting will help city folks discover spa and beauty centres all around Malaysia. Spa packages, photos, location, prices, contacts etc will be all listed on the app. Users can either browse through the photo-based homepage or search for their ideal spa according to location or price range. They can also search for discounts and promotions that are offered by the spa centres in the database. User-generated review function will be added for better reference. Reservations can be made through the app by email or direct phone call to spa centres at one click.

The idea is inspired from my problem of looking for an ideal spa. These days, more and more city folks especially the ladies are paying regular visits for body massage to release work stress and at the same time, to live up to their increased health awareness. Based on my personal experience, it is rather tedious to google for a spa with beautiful setting that is not too far from where I live, offers good service yet charges affordable prices. It is extremely time-consuming to open up numerous web pages to read up reviews on so many different spa centres. So hopefully this app can be designed to help solve the problem of spa-seeking and at the same time, bring up the revenue of our local spa businesses.

Step 4: Submit your awesome app idea and wait for good news if you are shortlisted!

*finger-crossed*  I honestly believe that Spa Seeker will be of so much help to girls like me lo! Teehee.

Christmas Dinner at Lobsterman Homarus Americanus

On Christmas eve last year, instead of having the usual turkey or steak dinner, we opted for a full Lobster meal.

Located at the neighbourhood of SS2, Lobsterman is the only lobster specialty restaurant in Malaysia. Don’t be overdressed for the place as it is more like a casual neighbourhood restaurant from the inside.

At first the waiter ushered us to a table next to the aquarium. I chose to be seated next to the wine shelf instead. Too depressing to watch the lobsters swimming miserably waiting for their last moment.

Set meals are available on usual days but not on public holidays and eves. The lobsters are served in a variety cooking styles. The smallest portion is 500gm, but even that size was way too much for me.

  • 550gm RM98
  • 700gm RM118
  • 800gm RM128
  • 900gm RM138

Lobster Bisque. The waiter warned me that it was bitter. He was right. Too much of the lobster brain essence. Anyone who is used to eating prawn heads would have recognized that taste.

Half dozen of French Style Baked Escargots served with mushroom and garlic butter.

550gm Char-Broiled Lobster.

Sweet tender lobster with its original flavor. It gets bland after a while though since I was having the whole damn lobster by myself. I would recommend you have your lobster served with any sauce toppings instead.

800gm Lobster Thermidor. Juicy lobsters meat accompanied by creamy and cheesy sauce *yums*

We were given melted butter for additional flavouring.

A tip for your future reference: do not order one whole lobster for yourself! (don’t listen to your boyfriend) If possible, go for their value set meal for 2 which I think is just the right portion.

OOTD on Christmas Day.

Christmas is an excuse to dress up as if it’s winter! Teehee.

A nice catch up session with Angela at Solaris.

December, what a joyful season.
