Melbourne-Gyu Tan Don FTW

*edited: added a few missing photos.

Damn semangat now so I’m gonna start blogging on my recent Melbourne trip! You see our bff host Katie had been bragging about how good Gyu Tan Don is. So for lunch on the very first day, we went to Menya Japanese Restaurant to try out Gyu Tan Don, or to be exact, ox tongue rice.

#1 (replacing captions with number just in case I run out of ideas HAHA)

#2 I know ox tongue sounds gross but really, it tastes just like thin strips of beef, except twice yummier!

Photobucket

#3 The good thing about restaurants in Melbourne is that they serve free tap water. Not all restaurants serve their tap water like Menya though, with decorations like lemon, strawberries, tomatoes and the unknown green leaves thingy. It tastes weird as if you’re drinking from your kitchen’s vege basin. I think I would stick to plain water.

#4 Most of the food in Melbourne are served in big portion. no wonder ang moh are fat

#5 We can haz Gyu Tan Don!

I think the best thing that complements Gyu Tan Don is the spring onion but Katie hates it. It’s really spicy and definitely not for people like Jess who has a lower tolerance on spicy food.

Shopped at QV (Queen Victoria) after lunch. Bought a few clothes from Valleygirl and they’re all black. It’s the city of black apparently, and I was already being Melbournised even on the first day. LOL.

#6 Tokui Sushi, the best sushi in town! Only $2 each and two sushi are already more than enough for we girls.

Photobucket

#7 Jess, fish-shaped shoyu, sushi. Wtfreak.

#8 Tea-time at Max Brenner.

Photobucket

#9 I just realized, Max Brenner is a bald man! HAHAHAHA how honest of him. Heart that hug mug by the way.

#15 Met up with Hunt da bauns who was looking haggard and lack of sleep as usual.

Photobucket

#16 Everyone there uses Blackberry! I’m getting mine soon XD

Photobucket

#17 Julius was there too. Noticed how Jess was smiling naturally in this photo? Rare scene!

Photobucket

#18 Another cute glass from Max Brenner’s.

Photobucket

#19 Went to Grill’d which was right opposite.

Photobucket

#25 Don’t they look alike? Jeez.

Photobucket

#26 Quote from Katie: You and Shereen look as if you share the same hair dye. Wtfreak. No wonder Hunt has been saying that she looks like me. Not because he misses me but because of our similar hair! LOL.

#27 Grocery shopping at Safeway. Toilet rolls wtf.

#28 White choc tim tam is love!

Photobucket

#29 Snacks to keep us alive at night.

#30 Who needs a cashier personnel when you can have machines doing the work?

Photobucket

#32 More shoes.

Photobucket

#33 And more shoes!

Photobucket

#34 Amazing right! Don’t you wish you can have them all?

Photobucket

That’s all for now! Keep your fingers crossed for more Melb entries. There’ll be 5 AT LEAST, I promise! So many photos my internal hard disk can hardly take it. Tsk tsk.
