Marutama Ramen, Fahrenheit 88

Like I said earlier on, ever since I discovered Ippudo Ramen in Singapore, I’ve developed a new passion towards ramen! Click here to read my review on Ippudo Ramen you wouldn’t want to miss!

On Christmas eve, we decided to have our lunch at Marutama Ra-men located at Fahrenheit.

It was my first time visiting this ramen shop hidden at a quiet corner on the first floor of Fahrenheit.

If you happened to be seated near the window, you could see Bintang Palace 天上人across the road. LOL.

Plenty of choices in the menu but unfortunately all of them are similar. All ramen here come with the same chicken soup and the only difference is the ingredients. You can choose either spicy or non-spicy soup.

Other than ramen, they serve quite a number of side dishes too.

Char Siu Tamago Ra-men – Chicken soup Ra-men with 4 slices of roast pork, seaweed, spring onion and a seasoned egg (RM26)

Char Siu Negi Ramen – Chicken soup Ra-men with 4 slices of roast pork, seaweed and spring onion (RM25)

The seasoned egg in the second ramen was an add-on. Aside from the egg, the 2 ramen are the same according to the description, but the second one has more seaweed and spring onion.

The Ajitsuke Tamago is highly recommended. Not sure but from what I read all good ramen shops these days serve this seasoned egg?

Nothing special about the soup. Still prefer the miso soup ramen from Santouka Hokkaido Ramen. The only specialty that boosted my appetite was the egg.

Gyoza (RM10)

Over all it was mediocre for me but apparently it is someone's favourite ramen shop. I guess opinions vary. I personally prefer broth with stronger taste! :)

What kind of costume is that? Yeah, the ramen is just so-so. Went there once and that's it. They ought to build more restaurants in F88. Malaysians just love to eat.
