Alexis Bistro, Bangsar

I had long craved for dessert especially huge pieces of sweet sinful cakes so the other day we went all the way to Bangsar just for an afternoon indulgence at Alexis Bistro.

For those who haven’t been to Alexis, look for Bangsar Village as the landmark. Alexis isn’t in the shopping mall though, but rather located at one of the shop lots nearby.

This place is perfect for a quiet afternoon tea and also a classy dinner date. Prices are reasonable with pasta ranging from RM30++ onwards. If you’re there before 3pm, there’ll be a set lunch menu priced at RM20+ which was quite cheap as it includes a soup, main course and dessert. The choices were limited though so we opted for ala carte.

My Carbonara Linguine was served with a generous amount of bacon and mushroom.

The portion was just right too. Although for some of us, we always feel disgusted at the end of this extremely creamy dish.

Alexis beef burger was delicious too. His actual intention of ordering this was the shoelace fries! LOL.

Quite a whole chunk of it. Salty and crispy with some taste of herbs. Alexis doesn’t serve these fries separately so the only way is to order the burger. It was worth it nevertheless.

Of course, no matter how full you are, one does not simply come to Alexis without ordering dessert! After all, that was my main motivation for going there.

You might have heard that Alexis is famous for its Tiramisu. Yes it’s true, I love their Tiramisu and I would certainly suggest that you try it. But this time I had Pavlova – layers of custard and cream topped with strawberries and blueberries. I assume this is one of the best selling dessert there. The previous time I went it was sold out. It’s so yummy I finished 95% of it even though I was so full after that Carbonara. And 95% is quite a lot, considering it was a huge piece of cake!

His Banofee Pie. It’s banana with cream that tastes like coffee. It tastes good but definitely not my type of dessert. I never like any dessert that tastes like coffee. It’s just weird.

Drop by Alexis Bangsar for their dessert, you will love it for sure! There’s Alexis at BSC, The Gardens and Ampang too :)
