Tainan - the street food paradise

Initially Tainan wasn’t part of our plan, but since everyone said Tainan has the most delicious street food, we decided to pay a one day trip there for the noms. It was rather late by the time we left the night market, so we spontaneously stayed for a night in Hsiang Kai’s place. Thank goodness I brought along my make up pouch that day XD

The food hunting began the moment Hsiang Kai picked us up from the train station. Someone suggested that we had to eat at least 20 types of food while we were there. Now to think about it, we had certainly exceeded 20 in those 2 days.

With salty egg yolk and shitake mushroom, how can anyone not like the fillings?

Later on, we went to this famous shop for porridge and loh mee.

Apparently the porridge gets sold out really fast so we had to call to reserve in advance.

The lady boss gave us a steam fish and a big bowl of soup for free after Michael told her that we are tourists from Malaysia. How nice of her :)

We proceeded to eat fish noodles near a temple.

With minced pork, seaweed and lotsa sesame oil.

Pudding is a must-have when you visit Taiwan!

We dabao one for each of us.

They come in different flavours such as pearls, red bean, green bean, lime etc.

Celebrities’ past visits.

All of us, and the girls behind are Hsiang Kai’s ex school mates whom we bumped into coincidently.

We chilled at a park nearby to digest our food before consuming more.

Visited Amping Tree House. It was a real house built on a tree and there ued to be people who dwelled in the tree house, but now it’s opened for public exhibition.

Some brief history of Tainan.

I’m guessing the trees must be at least 30 years old.

Thought it was a pretty decent location for an outdoor photoshoot.
