Looking for a high tea spot in KL? Consider Thirty8 at Grand
Hyatt!
Like the name suggests, Thirty8 is situated at Level 38 of
Grand Hyatt Hotel in the heart of KL. Visited the restaurant for my birthday
celebration with the 2 besties, Katie and Jess.
Birthday girl months ago. Took additional effort to make
myself look like a doll *creep*
We haven’t had proper birthday celebration together for
years since Katie is always away from Malaysia. Fortunate for me this year she
happened to be around!
If you’re heading to Thirty8 in the weekend, remember to
call in advance to make your reservation.
Lighting is perfect at Thirty8 for great photos.
Priced at RM68 per person, the 3-tier high tea set consists
of macarons, scones, cakes and sandwiches.
It is not mandatory to order the tea set. There’s a
selection of ala carte desserts in the high tea menu as well.
We ordered the signature cake as suggested by reviews –
RM26.
The waiter poured hot caramel sauce over it accompanied by
the dramatic dry ice effect. Fascinating.
It doesn’t just look good, but tastes awesome as well! No
doubt the signature cake. The must-have at Thirty8!
Musical band playing downstairs as we dined.
The only photo of us with the KLCC towers. The view is great, doesn’t matter if we look
dark.
Always wanted one princess-descending-the-stairs kind of
photo. Now I’ve got one! And with the right outfit XD
More photos with the girls that afternoon.
Thank you loves for the joint celebration! Although we don’t
see each other often, our friendships still stay strong all this while. Gosh,
we have known each other for more than 10 years! I love you girls. We shall
have many more birthday celebrations in the future! xoxo

What kind of princess outfit is that. Only if it snows here, then it will be perfect.
GH.. Was there having breakfast the other day.
Terrible service at The Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. I decided to go and experience their afternoon tea and was disappointed when half their menu contained peanuts or some other sort of nut. I had stated during the reservation that I have a nut allergy and was assured it would be taken care of.
Long story short, the manager didn't accommodate my allergies and suggested I order from the "a la carte" menu (paying for whatever I order of course). He kept arguing that I order from a different menu when I wanted to experience their afternoon tea.
The whole point was to go there for afternoon tea. If I wanted to order from their a la carte menu, I could've went anywhere else to have a late lunch.
I was so frustrated from arguing with this stupid manager, I left and ate elsewhere where I was happy and satisfied with the food and service.
Also, the whole point of afternoon tea or high tea is to drink tea. There was not an extensive tea menu at The Grand Hyatt, probably 7 at most..
Don't waste your time or money on this garbage place.
