Attended my last Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest this year at 1
Utama last Saturday! Click here
and here
to read about my experience at Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest which were held at
Hakka Restaurant and Berjaya Times Square.
Presented by Carlsberg Malaysia, Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest
provides consumers an opportunity to taste the authentic German beer and at the
same time, enjoy the joyful festive mood. Like I mentioned in the previous
posts, the event runs from September 26 to October 7, which means by now it has
come to an end.
I’m so glad to have attended 3 of their events this
year! Witnessed a large turnout of
consumers at the last event at 1 Utama especially. It was held at the old wing
outdoor parking space where a big tent was set up. I could already hear the
loud music and feel the party atmosphere as I was walking towards the shopping
mall exit!
We can haz Oktoberfest party hat!
As usual, consumers could take home the limited edition
Oktoberfest beer stein. This time they even allowed us to customize our name on
the stein! Too bad I went to the counter late so didn’t make it.
So glad that Jess accompanied me this time! She stays super
near from 1 Utama! Teehee.
Jessy was there too.
Gathered in front of the stage and ready to dance with the
crowd! XD
Met up with Wenshen there towards the end of the night. By
that time I was looking sweaty after all the dancing and jumping around. Can’t
help since it’s outdoor T_T
His bunch of friends.
There was a dunking machine this time! The same game we
played during Carlsberg Where’s The Party. Throw a ball and hit the target so
the fella would fall into the water container. No doubt one of my favourite
games! *evil*
Of course, Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest is not solely for
party-goers at Klang Valley. It was held at 18 key market squares throughout
peninsular Malaysia and even East Malaysia! Here are some photos of Malaysia’s
Own Oktoberfest at the other states:
I Beam, Batu Pahat on 27th September 2012.
Shenanigan’s at Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu on 28th
September 2012.
Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang on 4th October 2012.
The authentic Umpapa band from Germany and the Carlsberg
ambassadors in traditional German dress made their appearance at all of these
places! Everyone in Malaysia had the chance to experience the carnival like
festival!
The beers available at Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest: (which I’m
sure you’re quite familiar with by now if you’ve attended)
Carlsberg (5% ABV/ alcohol) the must-have every time.
Erdinger Weissbier (5.3% ABV) the first German wheat
beer to be distributed nationwide in Germany.
Franziskaner Weissbier (5% ABV) my personal favourite
despite the slight bitter taste. What a refreshing and smooth wheat beer!
Lowenbrau, (5.2% ABV) a famous beer during
Oktoberfest with rather light taste.
To encourage responsible drinking, Carlsberg Malaysia is
deploying their employee-ambassadors to distribute brochures and encourage
consumers to test their BAC (Breath Alcohol Content).

Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest might be over, but we should always
remember to enjoy responsibly! :)
