Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge Penang 2012 VIP Passes Contest

Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge is returning to Penang on 4 August 2012!

While commemorating Penang’s rich historical heritage, The award-winning World’s No.1 Scotch whisky and global partner of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes™ Formula 1™ team since 2005 will be celebrating their “home” race in Silverstone, Great Britain.

This time round, the hottest race party welcomes the presence of motorsports royalty with two-time Formula 1™  World Champion and  JOHNNIE WALKER® Responsible Drinking Ambassador Mika Häkkinen. Mika will be reinforcing Join the Pact to Never Drink and Drive, which is the primary JOHNNIE WALKER® Responsible Drinking social initiative worldwide. Consumers are encouraged to pledge their signatures to “Never Drink and Drive” campaign which was launched in Malaysia in 2009 by Mika and the then Minister of Transport.

The VIP race party will feature a number of British-skewed highlights, from headline British DJ Benji Boko rocking the night with a British-inspired set list, to iconic and instantly recognisable British decor and even tea-inspired cocktails to debut at the returning Black Flavour Lab mixology bar.

In keeping with the British theme, the JOHNNIE WALKER® Black Circuit Lounge will feature rising star and headliner Benji Boko from the UK to raise the temperature at the party with a decidedly British set list. The inimitable Benji is instantly recognizable from his huge Afro and his Purple Monkey alter-ego, and has shared the big stage with artists like Calvin Harris, Justice, Deadmau5, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Annie Mac and Plump Djs at huge events like Bestival, Glastonbury, Rockness, V Festival and at iconic locations like Ibiza.

DJ Direct from the USA has an enviable decade-long career entertaining the rich and famous on the stage of Las Vegas’ most elite clubs. He has performed with and for renowned artists like DJ Jazzy Jeff, NAS, DJ Premier, Cash Money, Samantha Ronson, Bow Wow and Ghostface Killah from the Wu Tang Clan amongst others.

The talented RayRay from Taiwan started DJing at the tender age of 15 and has quickly built a reputation as one of the foremost female DJs spinning in Taiwan. She holds a residency at Luxy Club, one of the hottest mainstay clubs in Taiwan and is as adept at mixing hip-hop as she is with Old School, Funk, Disco and Electro.

Rounding out the world class line-up is home-grown Malaysian spin artist DJane Geri, who has steadily been gaining mainstream recognition from local and international promoters. Geri is no stranger to local dance music fans, having held residencies at prominent venues like Zouk (Aristo), Luna Bar and Quinte, as well as playing in a multitude of clubs around Malaysia and the region.
